Privacy Policy

Last updated: 12 October

This privacy policy explains what personal data Commander Cove (“we”, “us”) collects when you visit commandercove.com, why we collect it and what your rights are. We are based in the Netherlands and follow the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Who is responsible

Commander Cove is the controller of the personal data described here. You can reach us through our contact page.

What we collect and why

  • Contact form: your name, email address and message, used only to reply to you (legal basis: your consent and our legitimate interest in answering questions). We keep these messages no longer than needed to handle your question.
  • Comments: if you leave a comment we store the name, email address, website, comment text, IP address and browser user agent, to display the comment and to detect spam. Comments may be checked by the Akismet spam filtering service (Automattic Inc.).
  • Server logs: our hosting provider (Hostinger) automatically records technical data such as IP address, browser type and pages visited, to keep the site secure and working.
  • Cookies: WordPress sets functional cookies, for example to remember your details when commenting. We do not use advertising cookies. If we add analytics in the future, we will update this policy and ask for consent where required.

Affiliate links

Some links on this site are affiliate links (see our affiliate disclosure). When you click one and visit the retailer, that retailer may set its own cookies to track the referral. Their handling of your data is governed by their own privacy policy.

Embedded content

Articles may include embedded content (such as videos or card images) from other websites. Embedded content behaves as if you visited the other website directly, and that website may collect data about you.

Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data. We only share it with service providers who help run the site, such as our hosting provider and spam protection service, and only as far as needed for that purpose.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict its processing, and to data portability. Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time. To exercise these rights, contact us. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
