The Corn Maze Superdrop, drop by drop, with our verdict for Commander players. Click a drop to jump to its cards and our take.
Last updated: October 25
Secret Lair has a packed end of the year. The Halloween-themed Corn Maze Superdrop is still on sale, the Reality Fracture bundle arrived on October 23, two new Chaos Vault drops went on sale on October 26, the Marvel Countdown Kit follows on November 2 and a Star Trek Superdrop opens on November 9. In December, the Zeta Set gets a second chance after its troubled first sale. Below we cover what is on sale, which cards matter at a Commander table, and whether each drop is worth your money. Card values are approximate market prices for the cheapest regular non-foil printing, checked October 25. They move quickly, so treat them as a rough guide.

Corn Maze Superdrop: The Basics
Corn Maze went live on October 12 at 9 a.m. PT on the official Secret Lair store, with a pre-queue opening an hour earlier. It holds eight drops and 46 cards in total, almost all reprints of existing Commander cards with new art and, for the licensed drops, new names. Every drop costs $29.99 non-foil or $39.99 foil.
- Bundles: Pumpkin Spiced Non-Foil Bundle $239.92, Full Moon Foil Bundle $319.92, and the A-Maize-Ing Everything Bundle (all 16 versions) $539.99.
- Bonus: a foil Maze of Ith reimagined as "The Labyrinth" for every $199 you spend, while supplies last.
- Shipping: free on orders over $99.
- Availability: Wizards says the drops are sold in limited quantities while supplies last. No fixed end date has been announced, so the closing date is not yet confirmed. Some retail listings call it print-to-demand, but the official announcement says limited quantities, and we go with that.
Peace, Love, & Treefolk
Cards: Doran, the Siege Tower, Timber Protector, Treefolk Harbinger, Leaf-Crowned Elder, and Dauntless Dourbark. This is nearly a ready-made treefolk tribal core. Timber Protector alone sells for around $23, Doran about $8, Leaf-Crowned Elder about $7, Harbinger about $6, and Dourbark about $4. That adds up to roughly $49 for a $29.99 box, and every card goes into the same deck. If you have ever wanted to build Doran, this is the easiest pick of the superdrop.
Labyrinth: Fear Me, Love Me
Cards: Muxus, Goblin Grandee (as Jareth), Goblin Rabblemaster, Boggart Shenanigans, Dance with Calamity, Claim the Firstborn, and Trinisphere. Most of the value comes from Trinisphere at roughly $33, with Muxus adding about $11. The rest are cheap goblin role-players. Muxus makes a fun goblin commander and Rabblemaster fits right in. Trinisphere is more of a high-power or trade piece than a casual favorite, but at about $45 to $48 in singles, the box is a clear win on value.
Labyrinth: Should You Need Us
Cards: Jodah, the Unifier (as Sarah), Lu Xun, Scholar General, Kami of the Crescent Moon, Kogla, the Titan Ape, Shigeki, Jukai Visionary, and Wort, Boggart Auntie. Wort is the surprise here at around $29, because its only earlier printing is old. Kami of the Crescent Moon is about $8, while Jodah and Kogla are about $3 each. Jodah is a strong legends-matter commander, and the Sarah art pairs with the Jareth card from Fear Me, Love Me to form one scene. Expect about $43 in singles.
KPop Demon Hunters: How It's Done
Cards: Swan Song, Underworld Breach, Demonic Counsel, Tempt with Immortality, Dawn's Truce, Unbreakable Formation, and Freed from the Real. Swan Song (about $11) and Underworld Breach (about $7 for the cheapest printing) are the headliners. Dawn's Truce and Unbreakable Formation are useful protection spells in white decks. Total value lands around $30 to $34, so it roughly breaks even. It is a good pick if you like the show or want several playable staples in one box.
Labyrinth: Through the Labyrinth
Cards: Delayed Blast Fireball, Tempt with Discovery, Timely Ward, Chronomantic Escape, Leveler, Thran Temporal Gateway, and Rogue's Passage. Delayed Blast Fireball (about $15) is a great one-sided board wipe for red decks, and Tempt with Discovery (about $3) is a reliable land tutor. The rest are cheap. At around $28 total, buy it for the art rather than the value.
Artist Series: Veronique Meignaud
Cards: Ashnod's Altar, Cabal Stronghold, Bloodsoaked Champion, and Voldaren Pariah. Ashnod's Altar (about $8) is an aristocrats staple and Cabal Stronghold (about $13) is great in mono-black. It comes to roughly $25 to $27, a bit under the price. Artist Series drops tend to hold collector interest, but on value alone it is a narrow miss.
Marvel: Zombies
Cards: Wilhelt, the Rotcleaver, Varina, Lich Queen, God-Eternal Bontu, Vogar, Necropolis Tyrant, Zombie Apocalypse, and Unstoppable Slasher. Wilhelt (about $10) and Varina (about $4 for the cheapest printing) are both popular zombie commanders. Overall value is only about $20, so this one is for Marvel fans and zombie players who want a matching set.
Manufactured Grounds by See Machine
Cards: Ancient Den, Seat of the Synod, Vault of Whispers, Great Furnace, and Tree of Tales. These artifact lands are great in affinity-style decks, but each costs a dollar or two. The non-foil box holds roughly $10 in value, so skip it unless you love the art. The foil version may be a better deal, since older foils of these lands are pricier.
Is Corn Maze Worth It for Commander Players?
Yes, selectively. Peace, Love, & Treefolk is the best buy for most casual players because every card fits one deck. Fear Me, Love Me has the highest raw value thanks to Trinisphere, and Should You Need Us delivers a strong commander plus a pricey Wort. How It's Done is fair. The other four only make sense if you love the art or the license.
The bundles do not save you money compared with buying drops one at a time: the non-foil bundle is exactly eight times $29.99. If you only want two or three drops, buy them individually. Watch the $99 free-shipping line, though. Three non-foil drops come to $89.97, so adding a fourth, or making one of them foil, gets you free shipping.
Countdown Kit: Marvel's History of Heroes
On sale November 2 at 9 a.m. PT, $199.99, while supplies last. A Countdown Kit is a box of 30 cards, each sealed in its own sleeve, meant to be opened one at a time. This one walks through the history of Marvel comics, with art from more than 30 artists. Every card comes randomly as non-foil, foil or the shinier surge foil. In earlier Countdown Kits, most boxes held one or two surge foils.
The full list is now confirmed, and it is better for Commander players than the price first suggested. Fierce Guardianship alone sells for around $62, followed by Biorhythm (about $34), Tainted Pact (about $30), Timber Protector (about $23), Opposition Agent (about $19) and Devastation (about $18). Four cards are reprinted for the first time: Molten Duplication, Fighter Class, Court of Bounty and Villainous Wrath. Two cards are brand new: Beta Ray Bill and Doctor Strange, Master of Magic, early looks at the upcoming Marvel: Darkhold Destiny set, which will be legal from its April prerelease.
| Card | Approx. value | Why you want it |
|---|---|---|
| Fierce Guardianship | $62 | Free counterspell in any deck with a blue commander |
| Biorhythm | $34 | Finisher for big creature decks |
| Tainted Pact | $30 | Tutor and combo piece |
| Timber Protector | $23 | Treefolk and Forest protection |
| Opposition Agent | $19 | Punishes tutors at high-power tables |
| Devastation | $18 | Total reset, lands included |
| Molten Duplication | $13.50 | Copy your best artifact or creature |
| Vigor | $12 | Turns damage into +1/+1 counters |
| Heroic Intervention | $9 | Protects your board from wipes |
| Fighter Class | $9 | Equipment tutor and voltron engine |
| The other 20 cards | under $5 each | Including Lightning Bolt, Snuff Out and Damn |
| Total | about $250 | vs. $199.99 for the box |
Our take: good value if you want two or three of the top cards. The box is worth roughly $50 more in singles than it costs, before shipping and tax, and the Marvel art makes it a fun gift. Because the cards are sealed one by one and have random foils, collectors will also look for surge foils of Fierce Guardianship. If you only need Fierce Guardianship itself, buying that one card is still cheaper.
Chaos Vault: Duality Distorted and Strange School
On sale since Monday, October 26, $29.99 non-foil or $39.99 foil per drop, while supplies last. These are the two Reality Fracture drops in the Chaos Vault. Both drops are also part of the Reality Fracture Secret Lair Bundle that went on sale October 23.
Duality Distorted
Old-frame cards whose art pays tribute to classic Magic illustrations. Thoughtseize is the card most players will want, with Desperate Ritual, Pyroblast and Tribute to the World Tree filling out the box. It roughly breaks even in singles, and the old frames will appeal to anyone who misses the look of early Magic.
Strange School
Black-and-white, school-horror manga art by Japanese artists on five black cards: Attrition, Bitter Ordeal, Ophiomancer, Sign in Blood and Soul Spike. All of them are cheap on their own, so buy it for the art. It fits neatly into an aristocrats or mono-black deck.
The Zeta Set returns on December 9
The Zeta Set, made with the art collective MSCHF, first went on sale on September 2. It is a randomized seven-card pack ($19.92 at launch) built to look like the rough playtest cards from Magic's earliest days, with 121 cards ranging from staples like Sensei's Divining Top, Skullclamp and Land Tax to oddities that only exist in this set.
The first sale went badly. A service outage stalled the queue, thousands of people waited an extra hour and a half, many hit checkout errors, and the product sold out before most got through. Wizards has now announced a relaunch: on December 9 the Zeta Set goes on sale again for 24 hours, and every order placed in that window will be filled. So there is no queue to win this time. The catch is the wait: relaunch orders are expected to ship in the second half of next year. The price for the relaunch has not been announced yet.
If you already ordered in September, nothing changes: North American orders are expected to ship around November 5, and European and UK orders around December 8.
Our take: a curio, not a value buy. The playtest look is the whole point. Because the relaunch prints to demand, don't expect these to become rare. Buy it if the style makes you smile.
Other Recent Drops
Festival in a Box: Atlanta (October 19, $249.99). The box paired a full Mystery Booster: Commander Edition display with the Secret Gallery: Atlanta drop (Regrowth, Assassin's Trophy, Parallax Tide, Viridian Revel) and four promos, with a limit of two per customer.
The Most Powerful Superdrop in the Universe (September 14) brought five Masters of the Universe drops at $29.99 / $39.99, plus bundles from $149.95 to $334.99. For Commander players the highlights were a full-art textless Sol Ring in the She-Ra drop, Sword of War and Peace and a double-sided Command Tower in Sold Separately, and commanders like Derevi, Empyrial Tactician and Winota, Joiner of Forces.
The store also currently lists the Chaos Vault Mood Swings product. September 2 brought the MSCHF Zeta Set, which returns on December 9 (see above).
Secret Lair Commander Decks this year
The latest preconstructed deck is Secret Lair Commander Deck: Odds and Ends, which sold for $149.99 during a 24-hour window from September 28 to September 29. Its commander is Yennett, Cryptic Sovereign, who casts odd-mana-value spells off the top of your library for free. The deck has 12 foil new-art cards, including Sol Ring, Swords to Plowshares, Esper Sentinel, Sensei's Divining Top, and Void Winnower, along with reprints like Brainstorm and Fractured Identity. Every order placed in the window will be filled, but most copies are not expected to ship until July 2027 in North America.
Earlier this year Wizards sold a Hatsune Miku Commander deck (August 10, $149.99, also a 24-hour window). No new Secret Lair Commander deck has been announced for the rest of the year yet.

Quick Buying Tips
- Log in to your Wizards Account before the sale and save your payment and shipping details. Your cart does not hold items until checkout is complete.
- Price out the singles you actually want. If you need only one card from a drop, buying that card alone is usually cheaper.
- Missed a drop? Sealed boxes and singles show up on the secondary market quickly. Search Corn Maze Superdrop listings and compare prices before paying a premium.
