We Are the Borg is the Esper deck from the Star Trek Commander release, led by The Borg Queen. She gives your artifact creatures +2/+2, and whenever she enters or attacks she steals the first creature from an opponent’s library and assimilates it as a Borg artifact creature.

The deck wants a big board of artifact creatures that the Queen pumps. At seven mana she is expensive, so the stock list leans on mana rocks that don’t do much else. The upgrades replace those with cost reducers and artifact payoffs, so the board grows before and after she lands.

The precon releases on November 13, 2026. Prices for the new Star Trek cards are early preorder prices and usually drop after release. The upgrade cards themselves are all reprints you can buy today.

What the deck does well

  • The Borg Queen pumps your whole board and steals a creature every attack.
  • Lots of artifact creatures that all get bigger with the Queen.
  • Esper colors offer removal, sweepers and card draw.

Where it struggles

  • The Queen costs seven, and the deck has few ways to make her cheaper.
  • Several mana rocks and slow card draw spells take up slots.
  • Some removal like Return to Dust can hit your own artifacts.

Verdict

We Are the Borg is a strong artifact deck with a commander that wins games on her own. The budget tier makes the deck faster and more consistent, and the mid-range tier adds real artifact engines.
