A 100-card deck deserves good protection, and four-player games run smoother with the right gear. Here’s what every Commander player should have in their bag.

Card sleeves

Sleeves protect your cards from wear and make shuffling easier. For Commander you’ll need at least 100, so look for packs of 100 or more. Consider inner sleeves (perfect fits) under your outer sleeves for extra protection on valuable decks.

Deck box

A double-sleeved Commander deck doesn’t fit in a standard 75-card box. Look for boxes rated for 100+ double-sleeved cards, ideally with room for tokens, dice and your commander displayed on top.

Playmat

A playmat protects your sleeves from the table and gives your battlefield a defined space. Standard size is roughly 60 × 35 cm.

Life counter

With 40 life and commander damage to track, a dedicated counter helps. Options range from large dice to dedicated life-counter apps.

Tokens and dice

Token-heavy decks need tokens. Keep a stack of the ones your deck makes most, plus a handful of six-sided dice for +1/+1 counters.

Storage for your collection

Binders and storage boxes keep the rest of your collection organised so building and upgrading decks is quick and easy.
