Landing Party is the Bant deck from the Star Trek Commander release, led by Commander Spock. Whenever Spock enters or attacks, you reveal the top card of your library and may cast it for free if its mana value is no higher than the number of differently named lands you control. If it is a land, it goes onto the battlefield.

That makes this a lands deck in disguise: the more different lands you have, the bigger the free spells. The stock list has some slow cards and a few lands that enter tapped. The upgrades add extra land drops, landfall payoffs and better lands, so Spock hits harder every time he attacks.

The precon releases on November 13, 2026. Prices for the new Star Trek cards are early preorder prices and usually drop after release. The upgrade cards themselves are all reprints you can buy today.

What the deck does well

  • Spock gives you free spells every attack, and the deck has enough creatures to protect him.
  • A wide range of lands already supports the differently named lands count.
  • Bant colors give you ramp, card draw and good removal.

Where it struggles

  • Few ways to play extra lands, so Spock’s free spells stay small for too long.
  • Some expensive spells like Sun Titan and Austere Command don’t fit the plan.
  • Too many tapped lands slow down the early turns.

Verdict

Landing Party is a fun, value-driven deck with a unique commander. Add a few extra land drops and landfall payoffs and Spock starts casting big spells for free every turn.
