Abzan Armor is the white-black-green deck from Tarkir: Dragonstorm Commander, led by Felothar the Steadfast. Felothar lets your walls and other defenders attack and deal damage equal to their toughness, so a board that looks purely defensive suddenly hits very hard.
Below you’ll find the full interactive decklist, what the deck does well, where it struggles and our recommended upgrades, split into budget ($8.91), mid-range ($43.72) and premium ($65.92). Start with the cheapest swaps and work your way up.

What the deck does well
- Felothar turns cheap walls like Wall of Roots and Overgrown Battlement into real attackers.
- Behind the Scenes gives your creatures skulk, so low-power walls are almost impossible to block. Keep it.
- Canopy Gargantuan and Indomitable Ancients are huge toughness bodies that hit very hard with Felothar.
- Solid removal with Swords to Plowshares, Anguished Unmaking and Despark.
Where it struggles
- A lifegain subtheme for the second commander, Betor, adds cards like Rhox Faithmender and Nyx-Fleece Ram that don’t push the toughness plan.
- Some cards repeat what Felothar already does: Wakestone Gargoyle and Walking Bulwark exist to let defenders attack.
- Card draw is thin, so the deck runs out of gas after its first big swing.

Verdict
Abzan Armor has one of the most unusual and fun engines of the set, but the lifegain leftovers dilute it. Swap them for extra toughness payoffs, card draw and board protection and Felothar becomes a scary casual commander.
